Honey branding and packaging 🌸
Del Bohío is a honey brand rooted in Huila, Colombia, founded by Juanita Silva Manchola—a daughter of beekeepers who inherited a deep love for bees, nature, and honey’s healing properties. She invited me to design the brand’s identity and a label for its honey jars, one that would both honor her cultural heritage and celebrate the rich biodiversity of her homeland.
Del Bohío identity combines a bold and flowing script typography—echoing human touch and artisanal craft—with botanical and bee illustrations that reflect the natural origin of honey, all framed by a honeycomb hexagon: a nod to hives, structure, and family heritage. A logo designed to embody tradition while remaining versatile and contemporary.
The label features a watercolor wash background that evokes an artisanal touch, contrasting with the boldness of the logotype. A honeycomb frame in gold echoes the richness of honey and adds a premium feel. Floral motifs by Anna Bond, paired with the bee, highlight the biodiversity and wildlife of the Huila region. 🌱
The result is a design that radiates warmth and joy through illustration, color, and texture—a celebration to Colombian folk-art sensibility, heritage and craft.
And, as Queen Bey says:
“I’ll get you stuck…
Stuck in my honey…”😋
